Under the 'Documents' section to the right, you will find a doc called "Series and Parallel Circuit Basics". Click on it, and it will lead you to a document you can print out.
It has step by step instructions on how to access the website we used in class today. You can also find the link under 'Helpful Links' - its the Circuit Construction Kit.
The document guides you through building several circuits and answering questions. Complete ALL parts for class on Tuesday.

Below you will find a link to your homework. It will first bring you to a page that asks for your name. Even though, it says it's optional to put your name, please do it anyway so I can see how you did answering the questions.
Once you hit the 'start now' button, you will be brought to a page with 12 questions. Answer them all to the best of your ability and then hit 'submit answers' at the bottom of the page.
Don't worry about your grade, we will go over the questions in class.

Welcome to Physics!
This website is going to be an important part of our class this year. You should check it EVERYDAY (In fact, bookmark it right now). Here you will be able to find homework assignments, study tools, class notes, important links and more.
Your first assignment has three parts:
1) Buy a quad-ruled composition notebook (like the one I showed you in class).
2) In this notebook, answer the "What do you think?" questions on page 598 in your Active Physics Textbook (REMEMBER TO SKIP THE FIRST 6 PAGES!). Be sure to use the heading I showed you in class.
3) Also in your notebook, make an inventory of all the appliances in your house that run on electricity and are not battery powered.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at tanzmanj@xavierhs.org
I look forward to a fun, productive and dynamic year with all of you!
